Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
MyBoatBuild (“we,” “us”) provides a build-tracking app that custom boat builders use to share progress with their customers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile apps and this website.
Who uses MyBoatBuild
- Builders (boat shops and their staff) are set up by us on the builder’s behalf. Builder accounts are not self-serve.
- Customers and viewers are invited by a builder to follow a specific boat build, using an invitation code.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address, and (for customers) optionally a phone number and mailing address you provide when redeeming an invitation.
- Build content — photos, videos, status updates, messages, documents, change orders, milestones, and reactions created within a build.
- Device and usage data — push-notification tokens (if you enable notifications) and basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
- Sign-in identifiers — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and your email (Apple may provide a private relay address).
How we use information
- To provide the service — connecting customers to their build and delivering updates.
- To send notifications you’ve opted into (push, and email digests where applicable).
- To secure, maintain, and improve the service.
- To respond to support requests and communicate about your account.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How information is shared
- Within a build — the builder and their authorized staff can see the customers, content, and contact details associated with builds they manage. Each customer sees only their own build.
- Service providers — we use trusted vendors to run the service, including Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Cloudflare (hosting and video delivery), Resend (transactional email), and Expo/Apple/Google (push notifications and sign-in). They process data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account at any time — see Delete your account. Deleting a customer account removes your profile and personal data, including your messages and reactions. Some records that are part of a builder’s business documentation (for example, a build’s history) may be retained by the builder in de-identified form.
Your choices
- Turn push notifications on or off in the app or your device settings.
- Update your profile details in the app.
- Delete your account from the app, or by contacting us (see below).
Security
Access to build data is restricted by authentication and row-level security so users only reach the builds they’re authorized to see. Media is served through expiring, signed URLs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
MyBoatBuild is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for business use between builders and their customers.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
